In diesen Tagen bekam ich \u00fcber mein youtube-Konto<\/a> folgende h\u00f6chst interessante Mail mit der Bitte um Kopien von einigen meiner Videos dort (solche Mail bekomme ich leider viel zu oft):<\/p>\n

I recently joined YouTube and have noticed over a couple of years old shows I had forgotten I did. It’s been an interesting thing watching yourself 30 years ago (for my wife too – oooo, you’re so thin and young…). Anyway, I’m the keyboard player in Joan Armatrading’s band from 1977-79 – Red Young (the guy with the stack of keyboards and the mane of red hair). I forgot about the TV show in Cologne. I remembered a couple of Rock Palast things we did, there was a BBC TV thing I had forgotten about as well. I also toured (and still tour after a 23 year break) with Eric Burdon and there’s a lot of stuff out there as well. Also toured with Linda Ronstadt and a few others I can’t remember. Wondering if I could get a copy of anything you have during the time I worked with Joan in 1977-79? If not, I’ll keep watching YouTube and enjoying it.<\/em><\/p>\n

Jener Red Young, u.a. 1977 bis 1979 Keyboarder bei Joan Armatrading, war also erst k\u00fcrzlich youtube beigetreten und hat sich die alten Auftritte, bei denen er mitwirkte, angeschaut: Der Typ mit dem Stapel an Tasteninstrumenten und der M\u00e4hne roten Haares.<\/p>\n

Nach rund 30 Jahren mutete es ihn schon merkw\u00fcrdig an, sich selbst wiederzusehen (seine Frau dazu: so d\u00fcnn und jung). An viele der Auftritte konnte er sich kaum noch erinnern, wenn \u00fcberhaupt. Und er tourte sp\u00e4ter mit Eric Burton und dann auch mit Linda Ronstadt und anderen und tourt nach 23 Jahren Pause wiederum.<\/p>\n

Ich habe dem guten Red Young nun erkl\u00e4rt, wie er sich die Videos bei youtube herunterladen kann (z.B. mit dem Real Player<\/a>). Ich bot ihm auch an, die besagten Aufnahmen mit Joan Armatrading auch als DVD-Kopie zuzusenden.<\/p>\n

Ja, die Welt ist klein und wird durch das Internet noch enger gezurrt. Ich kann gut nachvollziehen, wie er sich nach so vielen Jahren mit staunenden Augen selbst betrachtet hat. Bisher hat er sich nicht wieder bei mir gemeldet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
