Franz Kafka hat auch heute noch eine ungewohnt starke Anziehungskraft, besonders im englischen Sprachraum. Nicht neu und erst jetzt von mir ‚entdeckt‘ ist die Adaption einer Kafka’schen Erzählung zu einer Folge einer animierten Sitcom-Serie. Dabei handelt es sich um die US-amerikanische Fernsehreihe Home Movies. Und aus der ersten Staffel stammt die Folge sechs mit dem Titel: Director’s Cut.

Dwayne, einer der Hauptfiguren der Serie, schreibt eine Rockoper, die auf Kafkas Erzählung Die Verwandlung (englisch: The Metamorphosis) basiert. Natürlich gibt es dazu einen filmischen Ausschnitt – und (darunter) die Lieder (deren fünf) im englischen Original. Ich denke, Franz Kafka hätte seinen Spaß daran gehabt, den ich nun euch wünsche:
